{"id":10066,"date":"2018-08-16T11:11:59","date_gmt":"2018-08-16T18:11:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/?p=10066"},"modified":"2018-08-09T14:13:02","modified_gmt":"2018-08-09T21:13:02","slug":"home-buying-ranked-as-most-stressful-event-in-peoples-lives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/2018\/08\/home-buying-ranked-as-most-stressful-event-in-peoples-lives\/","title":{"rendered":"Home Buying Ranked as &#8220;Most Stressful&#8221; Event in People&#8217;s Lives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most people are aware that buying a home is a confusing and complicated process, but a new survey from Homes.com shows that for many of us, it\u2019s also the most stressful experience we\u2019ll ever go through.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Homes.com\u2019s survey of 2,000 consumers found that 40 percent of Americans saying buying a new home is the \u201cmost stressful event in modern life\u201d, while another 44 percent say they felt nervous as they worked their way through the process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Events such as a job interview, applying for college and hosting a Thanksgiving dinner were all ranked as being less stressful than buying a home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cFirst-time homebuyers are often stressed and overwhelmed when making such a large purchase like a home,\u201d said David Hoegerman, Homes.com senior manager of content. \u201cAs a result, they are looking for guidance and assistance to help make the process easier and smoother.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are a number of specific problems that the home buying process can cause, according to the survey :<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/?attachment_id=10067\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-10067\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-10067\" src=\"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/buying-a-home-is-most-stressful-event-in-modern-life-237x288.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/buying-a-home-is-most-stressful-event-in-modern-life-237x288.png 237w, https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/buying-a-home-is-most-stressful-event-in-modern-life.png 643w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Other findings from the survey show the average American viewed six properties before settling on the one they wanted. However, Hoegerman said that in some cases people may have made a decision too quickly due to the stressfulness of the buying process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hoegerman came to this conclusion because a worryingly high ten percent said they felt buyer\u2019s remorse after buying their home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAt the end of the day, buying a home is often the largest purchase the average American will experience in their lives,\u201d Hoegerman said. \u201cWhile it can be stressful and overwhelming, there are steps people can take to alleviate the tears and arguments that are bound to arise.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cBy doing research and discussing your desires and needs with your real estate agent, you can find a home that meets your needs while also staying within your budget,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/realtybiznews.com\/home-buying-ranked-as-most-stressful-event-in-peoples-lives\/98749866\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Home Buying Ranked as &#8220;Most Stressful&#8221;
