{"id":10312,"date":"2018-09-13T10:10:39","date_gmt":"2018-09-13T17:10:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/?p=10312"},"modified":"2018-09-06T14:01:48","modified_gmt":"2018-09-06T21:01:48","slug":"vancouver-home-prices-edge-lower-for-2-months-in-a-row","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/2018\/09\/vancouver-home-prices-edge-lower-for-2-months-in-a-row\/","title":{"rendered":"Vancouver Home Prices Edge Lower for 2 Months in A Row"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">VANCOUVER \u2014 The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver says prices for detached homes, townhouses and condos have fallen for two consecutive months in Metro Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The board says the benchmark price for all types of properties is currently $1,083,400 \u2014 up 4.1% compared to August 2017, but down 1.9% since May 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Detached home prices fell 2.8% since May to $1,561,000, which is also down 3.1% compared to the previous August.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Attached home prices fell 0.8 per cent to $846,100 since May, but rose 7.9% compared to August 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Condominium prices also dropped since May by 1.6% to $695,500 \u2014 up 10.3% from the same time last year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">REBGV president Phil Moore says in a statement that current buyers have more listings to choose from and face less competition in the area than in recent years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He says they\u2019ve also been less active in recent months \u2014 with 1,929 home sales in the region last month compared to 3,043 in August 2017 \u2014 and prices are beginning to edge down as a result.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/business.financialpost.com\/real-estate\/mortgages\/metro-vancouver-sees-house-prices-edge-lower-for-2-straight-months\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vancouver Home Prices Edge Lower for 2 Months in A Row<\/a> by Financial Post | The Canadian Press<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VANCOUVER \u2014 The Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver says prices for detached homes, townhouses and condos have fallen for two consecutive months in Metro Vancouver.
