{"id":11306,"date":"2019-01-07T15:15:26","date_gmt":"2019-01-07T23:15:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/?p=11306"},"modified":"2019-01-14T11:57:38","modified_gmt":"2019-01-14T19:57:38","slug":"most-influential-factors-for-first-time-home-buyers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/2019\/01\/most-influential-factors-for-first-time-home-buyers\/","title":{"rendered":"Most Influential Factors for First Time Home Buyers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The idea of love at first sight is normally applied to human relationships, but the concept is also true for house hunters, according to a new survey published by home improvement website <a href=\"https:\/\/porch.com\/resource\/first-home-nightmares\">Porch.com<\/a> this week.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/2019\/01\/most-influential-factors-for-first-time-home-buyers\/1st-time-homebuyers\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-11307\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-11307\" src=\"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1st-time-homebuyers-161x288.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"993\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1st-time-homebuyers-161x288.jpg 161w, https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/1st-time-homebuyers.jpg 572w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 555px) 100vw, 555px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe survey of almost 1,000 consumers about their first home purchase looked at some of the factors that can influence buyers\u2019 decisions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Factors such as aesthetic appeal, affordability, commute time and neighborhood character have the biggest impact on people\u2019s home buying decisions, the survey found. According to the study, some 67 percent of baby boomers and 61 percent of Generation Xers listed affordability as their top priority. Millennials also placed a big priority on finding a place within their budget, though renovated bathrooms were given higher consideration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another key factor was whether or not the home was \u201cmove-in ready\u201d, with many respondents shunning the idea of fixing up a place before moving in.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe know home renovations can get pricey, and one thing that appeals to potential first-time home buyers is finding a home where the kitchen and bathrooms are fresh and up to date,\u201d the study authors said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The study also found that Gen Xers are the most \u201cemotionally driven\u201d when it comes to choosing a home to buy.
