Millennials are especially at home when it comes to being early adopters of new tech, and nowhere is that trend more prevalent when it comes to how smart homes are attractive to Millennials. There\u2019s a good reason for that, and it\u2019s simple: Millennials are at home with technology like no other generation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Growing Up with Technology Everywhere<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Millennials grew up during one of the most revolutionary technology booms. The last decades of the 20th century saw modern life transformed in dozens of ways. Answering machines and pocket pagers gave way to mobile phones, the rise of the internet opened the doors to global communities, and technologies like flat-screen high-definition television transformed the way an entire generation worked and played.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Experiencing those changes as children and growing up alongside these innovations made Millennials uniquely positioned to appreciate new technologies as they emerge. With the majority of Millennials solidly in the 25-to-40-year-old age demographic, they are numerous enough and have the buying power to influence economic trends. This, combined with the affinity for technology, means that Millennials\u2019 interest in smart technologies is why smart homes are attractive to Millennials.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Types of Smart Home Technologies that Appeal to Millennials<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Smart home technology is becoming more and more common. From smart-enabled speakers like Google Home and Amazon Alexa to WiFi-enabled home appliances like thermostats and automated robotic vacuum cleaners, it\u2019s now possible to have a home that\u2019s you can interact with in a number of innovative ways.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This appeals to Millennials like no other generation. Smart homes are attractive to Millennials because they\u2019re excited about the prospect of not just re-living those early memories of experiencing new technologies being integrated into their lives but because they have the unique perspective of experiencing earlier technologies and being able to compare overall tech growth since those early days. Everything is new and exciting to Millennials when it comes to consumer technology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Smart Homes are Attractive to Millenials Because of this Enthusiasm<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It\u2019s this enthusiasm that drives websites across the internet to create excellent guides, such as this one, on incorporating smart home technology. Millennials both write these guides and then use them to transform their homes into masterpieces of connected tech, and they have the skills and experience to not just set up and maintain these sometimes complex networks, but they have the unique ability to bring these experiences to older and younger generations alike.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Millennials have always been relied upon to provide tech support for their parents and grandparents \u2014 that\u2019s nothing new. But Millennials with children are now passing on these tech experiences to their own offspring as well. Thanks to Millennials, the push towards smart home tech will only continue as they age, as their own children and grandchildren follow their examples and in their footsteps.
