The holidays for many are the best time of year. Getting to spend time with your friends and family while expressing your love for them with gifts and some good laughs makes the holiday season one to look forward to. When inviting guests over, it is important to prepare your home so they feel welcomed and comfortable while enjoying the holiday essence. This part can be challenging so we have given you a checklist for what to do to prepare your home for the holiday season!<\/p>\n

General Cleaning and Organization<\/strong><\/p>\n

Declutter :
\nClear out unnecessary items to make space for holiday decorations.
\nDeep Clean :
\nDust surfaces, clean windows, and vacuum carpets. Window cleaning products cost about $4.
\nClean or polish furniture.
\nOrganize :
\nArrange furniture for better flow. There are many guides online that can help you with inspiration.
\nOrganize closets and storage spaces.<\/p>\n

Decorations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Decorate :
\nPut up holiday decorations, including lights, wreaths, and ornaments. You can buy more than 100 feet of lights online for less than $50 in most cases,so decorating doesn\u2019t have to break the bank.
\nTree Setup :
\nIf you have a Christmas tree, set it up and decorate it. Real Christmas trees cost around $100 while fake trees can be anywhere from $100 to $250 depending on the size.
\nOutdoor Decor :
\nAdd festive decorations to your outdoor spaces. These include wreaths, light-up candy canes and other festive light fixtures.<\/p>\n

Holiday Lighting and Ambiance<\/strong><\/p>\n

Check Lights :
\nInspect and replace any burnt-out bulbs in holiday lights. Replacement bulbs are pretty cheap and can range anywhere from $2-$12 depending on the type of lighting.
\nSafety Check :
\nEnsure all lights and electrical decorations are in good working order. You can do a walk-around to make sure the lights are not damaged and that they are connected to a protected outlet.
\nScented Candles :
\nUse scented candles to add a holiday fragrance. Add festive hand soap in the bathroom and holiday towels to leave guests feeling festive.<\/p>\n

Heating and Comfort<\/strong><\/p>\n

HVAC Maintenance :
\nSchedule a maintenance check for your heating system. Ensure that everything is in working order so you can stay cozy with your loved ones!
\nComfortable Spaces :
\nAdd cozy touches like blankets and cushions. Colour-coordinate festive pillows with other elements in the room such as tablecloths and napkins.<\/p>\n
