{"id":3938,"date":"2016-11-08T11:11:15","date_gmt":"2016-11-08T19:11:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/?p=3938"},"modified":"2016-11-08T07:08:34","modified_gmt":"2016-11-08T15:08:34","slug":"cmhc-pace-of-housing-starts-slips-in-october-compared-with-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/2016\/11\/cmhc-pace-of-housing-starts-slips-in-october-compared-with-september\/","title":{"rendered":"CMHC : Pace of Housing Starts Slips in October Compared with September"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. says the pace of housing starts in October slowed compared with September.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The agency says the seasonally adjusted annual rate fell to 192,928 units in October, down from 219,363 units in September.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The drop came as the seasonally adjusted annual rate of urban starts fell 12.1% in October to 176,131 units.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Multiple-unit urban starts dropped 15.3% to 115,402 units for the month, while single-detached urban starts slipped 5.4 per cent to 60,729 units.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CMHC says the annual pace of urban starts fell in British Columbia, Quebec, the Prairies, and in Atlantic Canada, but increased in Ontario.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rural starts were estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 16,797 units.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The six-month moving average of the monthly seasonally adjusted annual rate stood at 199,920 units in October compared with 199,262 in September.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.canadianrealestatemagazine.ca\/news\/pace-of-housing-starts-slips-in-october-compared-with-september-cmhc-216737.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">CMHC : Pace of Housing Starts Slips in October Compared with September<\/a> by The Canadian Press | Canadian Real Estate Wealth<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. says the pace of housing starts in October slowed compared with September.
