But, of course, there\u2019s no guarantee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Realtor.com\u00ae analyzed the five most common real estate investments and broke down the typical returns investors have received over the past five years. Here\u2019s an overview :<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>1. Home Flips<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 First half of 2017 gross returns : 48.6%<br \/>\n\u2022 2014 gross returns : 45.8%<br \/>\n\u2022 2012 gross returns : 44.8%<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2. Rental Properties<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 2017 gross returns : 13%<br \/>\n\u2022 Three-year returns : 9.9%<br \/>\n\u2022 Five-year returns : 11.67%<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>3. REITs<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 2017 returns : 2.75%<br \/>\n\u2022 Three-year returns : 8.39%<br \/>\n\u2022 Five-year returns : 9.79%<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>4. Crowdfunding<br \/>\n<\/strong>(pooling money to invest in apartment complexes, office buildings, or shopping centers)<strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Year-to-date annualized returns : 8.72%<br \/>\n\u2022 Two-year returns : 8.89%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>5.
