{"id":9406,"date":"2018-06-17T15:15:00","date_gmt":"2018-06-17T22:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/?p=9406"},"modified":"2018-06-06T09:23:56","modified_gmt":"2018-06-06T16:23:56","slug":"neighborhood-vibe-often-counts-as-a-top-consideration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.roryc.ca\/blog\/2018\/06\/neighborhood-vibe-often-counts-as-a-top-consideration\/","title":{"rendered":"Neighborhood Vibe Often Counts as A &#8220;Top Consideration&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A neighborhood\u2019s vibe is a significant factor in almost every home buyers\u2019 decision making process, with almost 9 in 10 consumers rating it as a \u201ctop consideration\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">That was the finding of a survey conducted by Ally Home, a provider of home loans, which found that most respondents are after a \u201cquiet and quaint\u201d neighborhood vibe as opposed to one that\u2019s considered \u201cmodern millennial\u201d. Over a third also said they want a neighborhood that\u2019s similar to the one depicted in the NBC show \u201cThis is Us\u201d. By that they mean a neighborhood that has curb appeal, is safe enough that you don\u2019t need to lock the doors all day, and comes with friendly neighbors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But millennials have their own requirements when it comes to neighborhood vibe. For example, 28 percent said they would prefer more of a modern millennial vibe, by which they mean walkability and close to reasonably affordable coffee shops, restaurants and bars.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Having plenty of outdoor space is also important for 25 percent of respondents, who value things such as hiking trails, farmer\u2019s markets and organic farms in particular. Another 21 percent said they would prefer more of a family-centric neighborhood, with families living in close proximity and close to schools and playgrounds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Less important factors, but still valued by some, include cultural attractions, identified as a requirements by 15 percent of respondents, tech-friendly with good cell phone coverage and electric car charges (12 percent) and an upscale urban setting (9 percent).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile almost 80 percent of survey respondents said their neighborhood should fit their personality type.
