Summer is the perfect time of year to refurbish and redecorate your home’s exterior. A fresh coat of paint could be the key to boosting your home’s curb appeal and adding extra value to your property—no matter whether you decide to repaint your entire home or focus on adding accent colors to your front door.

There’s a science behind adding curb appeal to your home, and Thumbtack has been on a mission to decipher the paint colors that add the most appeal to your exterior. The platform’s latest report surveyed over 1,000 homeowners across the U.S. to find out how everyone is approaching their outdoor spaces this summer—and in doing so, found that one of the best ways to improve your curb appeal is with a fresh coat of paint.

Thumbtack partnered with Samplize, a peel-and-stick paint swatching company, to put together a list of the top colors to boost your curb appeal in 2026.

How Homeowners are Painting Their Exteriors This Summer?

Just as interior paint colors are leaning toward warm, earthy palettes, these trendy colors can benefit the exterior of your house, too. Samplize’s 2026 color palette includes creamy neutrals, soft greens, dusty pinks, and warm grays.

“Warm tones and creamy whites for the body of the house, paired with bold greens and browns for accent areas, are especially popular right now,” explained Juliano Da Cruz, Thumbtack Pro Advisory Board member and Operations Manager at Paint LAB Painting, in a press release. “Homeowners are moving away from cold grays, off-whites, and stark black-and-white combinations.”

The Colors That will Boost Your Curb Appeal in 2026

Neutrals

For neutrals, Thumbtack and Samplize point out soft grays and beiges as easy ways to boost the curb appeal of your home this year. Greek Villa (SW 7551) is a cream color that works well as a base color for your home’s exterior. Repose Gray (SW 7015) follows as an updated, warm-toned gray that feels more welcoming than cool gray colors of the past. Natural Linen (SW 9109) is a deep beige tone that pairs beautifully with vibrant accents.

Bolds

Thumbtack recommends using the bold colors in its 2026 paint palette for accenting the exterior of your home. Painting your front door, shutters, window trim, or even your porch railings with a lively accent color makes for an eye-catching way to draw attention to the front of your home.

Naval (SW 6244) is a rich navy blue that adds an elegant accent to a modern exterior; Sommelier (SW 7595) is a luxurious burgundy shade that offers style and personality that can be seen from the street. Iron One (SW 7069) is a deep gray-black for sleek accents in any outdoor space.

Earth Tones

You might already be familiar with the earthy paint palette trend that’s been dominating interior design since the beginning of this year. Now, these palettes are heading outside, adding an organic touch to the exterior of your home.

Colors like Retreat (SW 6207), a shade of sage infused with gray, or Rainwashed (SW 6211), a light blue-green color, make the transition from exterior to interior completely effortless. Soft pink colors are also trending as a way to add a little more romance to your space; make your home feel more welcoming and approachable with shades like Redend Point (SW 9801), a dusty pink, or Romance (SW 6323), a pink that’s so light, it also works as a neutral.
