The results are in from REW.ca’s 2018 Year in Review, and Vancouver’s most in-demand neighbourhoods have been revealed.

Based on average pageviews per listing on the popular online real estate portal, the hottest neighbourhood for house hunters was Kitsilano, which usurped Mt. Pleasant West, the previous year’s number one neighbourhood. In fact, the community didn’t even make the top 10 for 2018.

The average selling price of a Kitsilano home is $1,215,932, according to a January report from zolo.ca, a real estate brokerage with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Regina and Toronto.

Kitsilano was the second-most popular neighbourhood last year, when it finished right ahead of Downtown East.

Killarney, Fraser East, Fairview and Knight round out the top five neighbourhoods for REW.ca users for 2018.

Among those markets, one experienced the largest price growth of any in the city. The median list price for a Fairview home surged 10 percent in 2018 on a year-over-year basis.

Last year in Fairview the median list price was $2.5 million for a detached home and $799,000 for a condo, according to REW data.

While condos remain the most affordable option, three-bedroom houses attracted the most interest from Vancouver homebuyers, REW analysts discovered.

West End, Main, Fraserview East, South Vancouver and Grandview East complete REW’s roundup of the 10 hottest neighbourhoods.
